Energetika Ljubljana performs the activity of the remote supply of heat (hot water and steam), cooling and natural gas. In terms of the remote heating system’s size and distribution network’s use it ranks among the highly developed supply systems in Central Europe. It is also the biggest cogeneration power plant, producing highly-efficient electricity, and the biggest supplier of CNG in Slovenia.

Scientific partner

Aerosol d.o.o.

Aerosol d.o.o. develops and commercializes innovative instruments aiming at a better characterization of soot particles. The company was established in 2007 and has grown rapidly in the last 8 years. At present there are 16 employees, of which 6 hold PhDs, designing and producing Magee Scientific Aethalometers, instruments for measurement of black carbon by light absorption. We have cooperated in more than fifteen scientific and development projects and have led eight of these. The research and development group has an academic background, including training and mentoring two PhD students who performed their studies and research while working at Aerosol d.o.o. We cooperate with global leading research institutions within the scope of the development of new aerosol instrumentation and their applications. The new Aethalometer AE33, developed within an Eurostars project through an EUREKA program co-funded by the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, in cooperation with Paul Scherrer Institut (www.psi.ch), has been commercialized with great success. The applied research we perform focuses on source apportionment, especially the discrimination between diesel exhaust and biomass smoke. The prototype which will fly around the world is based on the commercial version of the Aethalometer AE33 with modifications necessary for airborne deployment.

ELES

ELES is the operator of Slovenia’s electric power transmission network and therefore responsible for 669 km of transmission lines in the 400 kV transmission network, 328 km of transmission lines in the 220 kV transmission network, and 1,862 km of transmission lines in the 110 kV transmission network.
The company ensures the reliable, safe and uninterrupted supply of electricity 24/7. As the connection between the producers and consumers of electricity, ELES is also responsible for the seamless operation of Slovenia’s entire electric power system.
ELES is aware that its system inevitably encroaches upon the environment and life; however, this is achieved prudently following the principles of the sustainable development of the social and natural milieu.    

HEP

HEP Group is the leading company for power generation, transmission, distribution and supply in Croatia. HEP is a vertically integrated power utility company, operating across the entire electricity market spectrum from generation to end-consumer distribution. As part of its operations, the Group is also engaged in thermal energy (heat) generation, distribution and supply, gas distribution and supply on the wholesale and retail markets in Croatia, as well as in electricity trading.
Although more than 70 percent of electricity is produced on average without CO2 emissions, HEP is dedicated to a further development of own RES portfolio besides the existing large hydro capacities. Following the installation of photovoltaic cells on the roofs of our nine business buildings, the construction of two wood biomass cogeneration facilities is soon to be finished, and we are considering the construction or the acquisition of several projects operated by other sources of renewable energy. In terms of electromobility, we have constantly been increasing the number of public charging stations throughout Croatia in order to connect Croatia with the European electric motorway. Apart from renewable sources, the second important component of our energy-climate policy is the implementation of energy efficiency measures. In addition to projects focused on energy savings by our large customers, we are also rolling out the project of establishing the energy management system in HEP Group.

Aerospool, spol. Sr.o.

Aerospool, spol. s r.o. develops and manufactures two-seat light sport airplanes and four-seat aircraft. It also offers glider repair/repaint services, such as damaged glider repair, maintenance, modifications according to producer documentation, annual inspections, instruments and other equipment installation, trailer repair and/or repainting, and CFRP/GFRP gliders painting. The company was founded in 1990 and is based in Prievidza, Slovakia.
